What Is Kief?
Before we jump into our list, let’s take a quick look at what kief actually is. Kief, or cannabis trichomes, are tiny white specks seen all over your bud. If you’ve ever ground weed by hand and felt like you had glue on your fingertips, that’s due to sticky kief.

Not only does it have extremely high levels of THC, but it also serves an evolutionary purpose. Kief prevents herbivores from eating the cannabis plant by inducing a disorienting psychoactive state that keeps them from munching on the plant.
While that might be enough to keep herbivores away, the potent crystals are perfect for humans looking to add a kick to their high!
Time To Pop Open That Kief-Catcher
If you own a grinder, chances are it has a built-in kief-catcher that’s slowly but surely collecting dank dust every time you use it.
Growing your kief collection from a small pile to a massive mountain is a true test of patience, but there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing your kief-catcher full of green powder after months of hard work.
If your kief-catcher is getting crowded, here’s five awesome things you can do with your hard earned kief!

1. Sprinkle it everywhere:
Tossing some kief on your next bowl is sure to take it to the next level. A direct flame can burn kief quickly, so make sure to light it carefully or mix it in with your bud to prevent any from going to waste.
If you have a vaporizer, use a low heat setting and you can enjoy your kief without losing any THC in the process.
If you’re feeling daring you can cover a joint with some wax or oil and roll it around in kief for maximum effect. Putting kief inside a joint is also a great way to boost your high.

2. Make hash:
Making hash is an ancient tradition that turns kief into a ball or brick, making it easier to consume.
It can be tricky to make hash and there are endless ways to do it, but here’s a quick and easy 5 step guide you can try at home.
As far as smoking the hash, break it into little pieces and use any of the above methods. You can also use it with dab pens or a dab rig.

3. Edibles!
Kief is perfect for making edibles because it has a more subtle flavor than fresh bud, while also being more potent. Turn your kief into butter you can use with any meal by following this handy recipe.
As with all edibles, dosage is difficult to determine, so remember to take it slow!
4. DIY Moonrocks:
Moonrocks are some of the dankest nugs you can find and come with a significantly higher price tag. If you’ve never heard of moonrocks, they’re made by mixing bud with concentrate (oil) and then rolling it all in kief.
To make them yourself, lightly heat your concentrate and coat your buds in it. Shuffle your goo covered buds in kief while the wax is still warm, then let them harden.
Make sure not to use your grinders with moonrocks as they can cause clogging due to how sticky the buds get.

5. Spice Up Your Coffee or Tea:
Making kief infused coffee or tea is surprisingly easy and can give you a nice buzz from the combination of caffeine and THC.
Simply add a pinch to your next cup and the heat from your beverage will activate it. Adding milk (or any kind of fat) will also increase the potency, but for maximum effect, you would want to decarb your kief first by baking it at 250 for 20 minutes.

If you have plenty of kief to spare, you can try all these methods and find out which you like best! If you haven’t yet began your kief collection, start by checking out our awesome selection of grinders with built-in kief-catchers!
